Battle of the Bands Finals: Angry Furniture V Mums Cardigan

Welcome back to the very last summary for the Battle of The Bands!

We had Mum’s Cardigan face off against Angry Furniture—a separate battle of the textiles.

The Bands

Back from Heat 1 and the Semi-Finals, Angry Furniture got us all ramped up with their silky smooth set, seamlessly transitioning from song to song. Opening with hype covers from classics like Paramore’s “Still Into You” and then transitioning into mellow synth-rock, playing “MGMT” by Kids. Bringing about a wild frenzy to the bar, they pumped up the audience for the last time that night.

Mum’s Cardigan followed up with the usual variety: pop, jazz, funk—they have something for everyone. Being versatile is their specialty! Making everyone move to the beat, they mesmerised us all with their powerful vocals, and constantly making us guess what’s next in store.

The Judgement

Now that the two acclaimed fan favourites had their showdown, it’s time to reveal the winner of them all.

There was a tight margin between the two semi-finalists and Mum’s Cardigan took the grand prize! A fresh face steps into the spotlight of Brisbane’s music scene and they’re sure to be remembered, sporting an exhilarating funky set for the competition. It really makes you curious about the rest of their songs, so check out the winners on Instagram @mums.cardigan.

What’s Next?

After a long 7 weeks of fierce competition did you get a new spotify obsession? Perhaps, you missed out on securing some bragging rights? Or even worse, you didn’t get to rock out with a Fireball in one hand (or both if that’s how you roll).

Goodbye for now! Maybe you’ll see us again in 2026.

Keep an eye out.
