Hello and welcome to the first submission round for Glass 2021! Our theme for our 12th Issue is ‘Complicated.’
Theme Prompt
From Eves Karydas to Avril Lavigne, everyone has their own version of ‘Complicated.’ Make us a piece that tells us what complicated means to you, whether that’s in your personal life or relationships, or something on a topic you want to unwind for the glass readers. We want your submissions to be loud, proud, and completely yourself. Send us art, poetry, nonfiction, recipes, photography, love letters, short stories, reviews, shopping lists, anything! Selected works will be published in print across campus and circulated online, as well as being launched at a Magazine Launch Party! Send us your best work surrounding the theme ’Complicated’. You can interpret it as loosely or as hardline as you like!
Important note: While we are interested in all work, please include a content warning if you are writing about a sensitive subject. We are not averse to reading sensitive work, however, it is necessary to inform us if your work is of that nature.
Guidelines
Please make sure you’ve read our submission guidelines for written work and images/art. All content must be original and contributors must possess the rights to publish the work. For images, this includes having the permission of anyone in photographs to be published.
Magazine submissions have a hard word limit of 1200 words for a two-page piece and 600 words for one page. If your piece is longer and you would like it to be included, please email us and we can discuss further if it can fit or if the piece could go online. For image submissions, please ensure they’re at a printable DPI quality.
If you have trouble uploading your submission files for any reason, you may also submit your work through email to media@qutguild.com.
Eligibility
Submissions are open to QUT students, past and present. You can be Undergrad, Postgrad, or graduated! All faculties are welcome to submit, and we would love to see work from all of them.
Deadline
Submissions will be open until 13th of June, 2021.
