unSEXpected: The Intimacy Card Game Instructions

Let’s talk about intimacy, baby!

unSEXpected: the intimacy card game is a 60-card 2-player game. This game aims to start conversations between you and your partners, friends, family, or whoever you choose to play with!

Inside the box you’ll find:

  • 16 orange prompt cards.
  • 18 beige choice cards per player, with a wide range of feelings/ reactions to choose from.
  • 1 additional blank beige card per player, to be used as a ‘wild card’ and add their own word.
  • 1 blank dark blue card per player, to be used as a ‘pass’ on questions they don’t feel comfortable answering.
  • 4 red ‘challenge’ cards with optional tasks for players to further establish connections.

To start the game, each player should have 20 cards (19 beige cards with no repeating words per hand, and 1 dark blue card). The orange cards should remain in a pile between players with the prompt side facing downward, as should the challenge cards.

Players need to fill in the blanks on the orange prompt cards by selecting response cards that are most relevant to their lived experience. They can choose whether to respond to all prompt cards or take turns responding to different prompt cards;

eg 1:
Player A flips a prompt card. Both Players A and B select their responses and reveal their answers at the same time, taking turns unpacking their answers. Player B flips the next prompt card and repeats.

eg 2:
Player A flips a prompt card. Player B selects their response and reveals their answer, unpacking their decision. Player B then flips the next prompt card, and Player A responds. Repeat.

The challenge cards are optional and can be played at any time.

Enjoy!
