QUT Guild has organised a raffle for O-Week to raise funds for WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service) bushfire appeal. WIRES has already been instrumental in the immediate recovery and rescue initiatives during the 2019/20 Summer Bushfires, but there is still plenty of work to be done to help wildlife across New South Wales and Australia.
100% of the money raised through raffle tickets sold at O-Week will go to supporting WIRES as they continue to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife who have been injured through the recent fires. QUT Guild Environment Interim Officers Clare Gordon and Hannah Smith have partnered with local and national environmentally focussed businesses to create some amazing prize packs. Prizes have been donated by Vessel Nundah, Frank Green, Kappi, Archive Fine Books, National Geographic, Netherworld, SWOP, Biome, EverEco, and Seed & Sprout. We’d like to thank them for their donation to the cause, thanks for being legends, pals!

“We hope that students really rally around the raffle,” says Clare Gordon. “We’re really excited to launch this raffle, especially for such a good cause continuing the effort WIRES has already made to recovering from these bushfires.”
Tickets will be available to purchase on campus during O-Week, and will be $2 a ticket or you can quintuple your chances with $5 for 5!
