Glass’ fourth and final submission round for the year is here! Current students and alumni are all invited to submit to our 10th issue, we can’t wait to see what you produce! We decided to make our final submission round earlier in the semester so that you don’t have to juggle Glass and study as the semester progresses.
Go down the rabbit hole, away on a tangent or into the abyss! Send us your most whimsical poems or long–form journalism about the topics you feel strongly about. This is your last chance in 2020 to submit a piece to Glass for print, make it worthwhile.
Is the caterpillar’s voice of reason a breath of fresh air in our post-modern society? Does the Queen of Hearts show the dangers of an all-knowing oligarch in an era of Big Data? Or should we embrace the spontaneity of Tweedledee and Tweedledum in anarchical abandon? We want to see poetry, photography, non-fiction, stories, journalism, essays and art!
‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ can be about pushing boundaries or knuckling down on what makes you tick. Follow the White Rabbit into Wonderland and tell us which reality you prefer…
Magazine submissions have a hard word limit of 1000 words for a two-page piece and 600 words for one page. If your piece is longer and you would like it to be included, please email us and we can discuss further if it can fit or if the piece could go online.
Submissions will close on the 6th of September.
A Note from Glass
If you’re not a creative writer or artist, that’s fine! We’d love to see content from all across QUT, from Law to Education and everything in between. You can write on any topic in whatever format you want, an open letter, a review, a recipe, comics, photography an essay – it’s up to you. We’d like to particularly encourage submitting if you haven’t published anything before as we love seeing new contributors. (PS. having a professional writing credit is great for a resume) If you were a Glass contributor in 2019, you know the drill – welcome back!
If you have trouble uploading your submission files for any reason, you may also submit your work through email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
