Hi, I’m Ojas and I’m running to be your Engagement Officer for 2025. I’m currently in my second year of a Bachelor of Business (Marketing). I joined the Elevate ticket because I believe a practical, grounded, issues-focused team can deliver the best results for QUT students.
Since 2022, I’ve been active in several clubs and societies, such as 180 Degrees Consulting, Multiverse Explorers (formerly known as Marvel Enthusiasts) and AMPed. From helping a local startup develop its digital marketing strategy to starting a club and engaging with industry representatives, I’ve experienced firsthand the many possibilities of campus life.
I’ve heard from students who feel overwhelmed about where to start and what to do on campus. I hope to bring a realistic touch to the events, workshops and activities that I’ll get to organise as the Guild’s Engagement Officer. I believe that every event, workshop and activity should serve a greater purpose in your journey as a uni student. Having frequent events on financial literacy and life skills would be one of my biggest priorities. I also know how difficult it can be to make friends at uni, so I’d like to collaborate with clubs and societies on more speed friending events.
Uni life is about more than just attending lectures and tutorials. It’s about making the most of the time that you have, learning from every experience and challenging yourself to become the person that you want to be. I want to help every student find themselves through the power of campus life.
I believe the QUT Guild has an important role to play for students in the future because it can amplify our voices using a vast supportive network of like-minded students. The more people that vote, the more perspectives we can learn from to improve QUT.
