My name is Marshall, and I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the position of Engagement Officer with the QUT Guild. As a passionate advocate for student involvement and community building, I am dedicated to creating a vibrant, inclusive campus atmosphere where every student feels a sense of belonging. My main priority will be bringing back the vibrant campus culture that has been missing for too long. QUT should be a place where students feel connected, engaged, and excited to be part of something bigger.
In this role, I will focus on developing and implementing initiatives that enhance student engagement across all facets of university life. I aim to facilitate exciting engagement activities that not only promote the diverse actions and activities of affiliated bodies but also encourage students to participate actively in their university community.
I will create a new funding grant to promote clubs and societies to host more events on campus, and I will prioritise outreach efforts to keep students informed about the Guild and provide clear guidance on how they can get involved.
I will strive to create an environment where every student feels valued and empowered to contribute to the campus culture. We’ll lobby to bring a Yochi to campus and bring back beloved traditions like the QUT Toga Party, alongside weekly markets on the Kidney Lawn to make campus life more exciting.
Reviving our campus culture isn’t just a slogan — it’s a promise. By voting for me as Engagement Officer, you are choosing a candidate who is passionate about making QUT a more engaging and welcoming place for all students.
