Glass Election 2023 Reporting – Candidate Information

Candidate Statements

These will be published online and in print. Candidate submissions must be 600 words or fewer.

Each candidate will have one online article for their candidate statement and one page in the Glass Election Edition in print.

Candidate submissions should be:

  • 600 words maximum
  • submitted as Word Document

Each candidate may also submit one (1) photo of themselves.

Both online and print submissions must be sent to cgreig@qutguild.com by Tuesday 3 October 2023 at 5pm. This is a hard deadline due to print deadlines and no accommodations will be made for late submissions.

Interviews

All candidates are invited to participate in an interview. These are primarily for Presidential candidates and any candidates leading a ticket, but I’m happy to fit in any other candidates if they express interest.

Interviews will be conducted at the Guild Office at C Block, Level 2.

You must book your interview time using this link.

Leading a ticket or presidential nominee? Your interview will be about 30 minutes.

Independent, running on a ticket, or NUS delegate? Your interview will be about 15 minutes.

If you don’t show up within 15 minutes of your interview time, it will be cancelled.

If you fail to attend a rescheduled interview, you forfeit your opportunity to have an interview featured in Glass this election season.

Questions will not be sent to any candidate prior to interviews. Questions for each candidate may differ slightly.

Interviews via Zoom are available if accessibility issues prevent in-person attendance on a case-by-case basis.

If there are no booking slots available on your preferred day, please email me at cgreig@qutguild.com

    Presidential Debate

Details for this are being confirmed. The tentative date is Wednesday 18 October 2023.

Presidential candidates will be contacted in due course about this.

Email me at cgreig@qutguild.com if you have any questions.
