Dropping like flies. Who is still in the running for Guild Elections 2023?

We’ve had quite a bit a movement in the candidate list since the close of nominations a few weeks ago for the Guild elections. We are now down to 23 candidates vying for election to the SRC, and another 18 have now been elected unopposed – some due to no other candidates nominating, and some due to candidates being disqualified.

Glass understands that there is no way for a Guild election candidate to “withdraw” their nomination, but candidates who no longer wish to run usually deliberately disqualify themselves from the race by not attending the mandatory candidate briefings.

You’ll be pleased to hear that campaigning is officially done on campus from this afternoon, so there’ll be no more taking the long route around campus to avoid the pesky stupollers who have been plaguing walkways all over GP and KG this week.

Voting begins next Monday 23rd October! You can read statements from some of your candidates here.
