Hi, I’m Oscar. I am running on the Elevate ticket and I am excited as our team is experienced and dedicated to enhancing and elevating the QUT experience from undergrad to post-grad.
I’m running as a candidate because I believe the university experience continues into post graduate studies. I want to help establish networking opportunities for PhD students, further recognizing their contributions to their respective fields. My goal as Postgraduate Students Officer is to hear from you as to what you would like for your post graduate experience and to implement cost-of-living support for students. I will also aim to create an association with the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) for QUT postgraduate students.
I believe the Guild is important because it helps establish authentic advocacy, and real, positive, and enduring change for students. It fosters a commitment to community and a supportive environment for all. In essence, I believe that a proactive Guild should be an intrinsic part of the university and student experience, thereby creating a cohesive entity.
