Hello, my name is Isabella, and I am excited to be running for the role of Environment Officer with the QUT Guild. As a passionate advocate for sustainability and environmental responsibility, I believe it is crucial that we take meaningful action to create a greener, more sustainable campus at QUT.

If elected, my top priority will be to promote eco-friendly practices, raise environmental awareness, and push for sustainable policies within the Guild and across the university. I will actively participate in QUT committees and working groups, ensuring that the student voice is represented when shaping the university’s environmental policies.

I will work closely with the Environment Collective to foster collaboration and support for environmental campaigns and initiatives. By setting clear goals and strategies for events such as sustainability workshops and eco-conscious campaigns, I aim to engage students and encourage more environmentally responsible choices.

If elected, I will push for practical, student-focused environmental initiatives that will make a tangible difference. This includes introducing more recycling and composting stations across campus, ensuring that students have the tools to reduce their waste and environmental impact. We’ll also advocate for the reduction of single-use plastics at all QUT outlets, including cafes and vending machines, while encouraging sustainable alternatives.

To further engage students in sustainability, we’ll focus on educating students about environmental issues and promoting sustainable living to raise awareness and provide students with practical skills they can use to lead more eco-friendly lives.

QUT should be a leader in sustainability, but it needs strong, proactive leadership to make that happen. With Revive, we will ensure that environmental concerns are taken seriously, and that meaningful action is taken to protect our planet. Vote for Revive, and together we’ll build a greener future for QUT.
