After two weeks of agonising waiting, the Returning Officers have officially released the final declaration of poll results for the 2024 QUT Student Guild elections.
Elevate are still the party with the most candidates; members of the party have been elected to eight Officer positions, including all three of the President and Vice President roles, and one Councillor position.
Left Action Free Palestine! received both of the Officer positions they nominated for, Education Officer and Environment Officer, and three Councillor positions.
After Revive were only elected to three positions in the first declaration, they have surprised us all by ending up with two Officer positions, Women’s Officer and Clubs and Societies Officer, and four Councillor positions. However, Glass has since been made aware that the Women’s Officer has resigned. A casual vacancy for the position will be opened soon.
In an unusual turn of events, the election of the Clubs and Societies Officer role required investigation to determine the outcome, which was reported at the Declaration of Poll announcement event on Friday, October 25.
No further information has been released by the Returning Officers regarding the investigation. Once the appeal process has been completed, more information will be available.
