Class is back in session, and you know what that means. We’re all back to cramming for exams and pulling all-nighters for assignments.
Yet just when we thought we’d all pull our socks up this semester, in comes QUT Guild’s inaugural ‘In Session’ fest!
Look, for those of you who are well organised, you’re more than welcome to come. Needless to say, my inevitable attendance will be testing my time management skills, so… in saying that, I invite all fellow procrastinators to join me.
To help you get excited, Glass has put together a sneak peek of the artists you can expect to boogie your assignment worries away to.
CHOOMBA
This Goldcoast DJ duo is bound to get you grooving with their deep and synthy house cuts paired with healthy doses of bass drops.
They’re best known for dancefloor beats such as La Luh, Way Out and latest single, Say It, which you may have heard on the airwaves of Triple J. The boys are definitely rising stars in the house music scene.
DVNA
Another Goldcoast artist bringing you dreamy, funky hip-hop beats. DVNA (pronounced: da-na) gives American indie-pop artists like Clairo a run for their money while channelling mega hip-hop diva vibes.
Her production quality is outstanding, with unique samples seamlessly woven between dreamy and emotional electronic beats. She is a fresh act worth following.
HOPE D
With humble roots from right here in Brissie, Hope D has been busy taking the nation by storm with her harmonious fusion of indie and alt-pop rock.
Expect to witness her magic for storytelling through songs like Second and latest hit Addict from her debut EP, Cash Only. She’s coming back home for what is definitely going to be a night to remember.
STACE CADET
Fear not friends, there will be plenty of fire tracks to get down to, thanks to this Melbourne producer. You better be ready for those iconic deep-house beats that the Australian electronic music scene just can’t seem to get enough of.
Haven’t sold you yet? You might remember his latest track, Energy featuringformer Triple J – House Party host KLP, an absolute banger and another rising star.
