Tell us a bit about your club.
The QUT Student Pharmacy Association (QUTSPA) is a student-run non-for-profit association that was established in 2007. All QUT pharmacy students are encouraged to become QUTSPA members. In affiliation with the National Australian Pharmacy Student Association (NAPSA), QUTSPA endeavours to provide our members with ample opportunities for further education and industry knowledge. We aim to promote connectedness and a sense of community amongst our members, as well as raise pharmacy awareness and advance the standing of the profession within the wider community. Additionally, we strive to encourage engagement in extracurricular activities and social events and maintain working relationships with pharmacy students from across Australia and the world.
Can you share a memorable moment or event that the club has hosted or participated in?
QUTSPA has had the privilege of being involved in the annual NAPSA Congress for several years. In 2024, a group of QUT pharmacy students had the opportunity to travel to Hobart during the January holidays and engage in a broad range of education sessions, network with numerous industry professionals and form lifelong friendships with like-minded students from across Australia and New Zealand. This weeklong conference was a source of inspiration, sparking enthusiasm for the future of our aspiring pharmacists. It opened our eyes to our profession by providing us with a clearer vision and better understanding of the numerous options and opportunities that await us upon graduation. It has allowed us to witness and experience the full extent of the pharmacy world, beyond the confines of student life and delving into all aspects of the pharmacy profession.

It is free to sign up to be a QUTSPA member and it gives you early access to networking events and a multitude of educational workshops, exclusive discounts for flagship conferences, textbooks, merchandise and all social events, including our annual ball! You can become a member today on our website.
From 2024, we are excited to announce that the Pharmacy Guild of Australia are supporting us students to provide free QUTSPA membership to all currently enrolled in pharmacy at QUT. This free QUTSPA membership gives you automatic membership to other organisations in the industry like Pharmaceutical Defence Limited, Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, NAPSA and the International Pharmacy Students’ Federation (IPSF).
