Tell us a bit about your club.
QUT Malaysian Students Association is a heartwarming community created by Malaysian students studying abroad, to weave a tapestry of familiarity for those living away from home. Our mission? To keep a bit of Malaysia close to your heart, no matter where you are. But hold on, there’s more! We are not just for Malaysians; we welcome anyone who is interested in Malaysia’s dynamic diversity, delicious cuisine, rich culture, and captivating traditions.
Can you share a memorable moment or event that the club has hosted or participated in?
QUTMySA has hosted more than ten interesting and marvellous events every year. A welcome party takes place every semester, to set the tone for inclusivity and creating an environment in which everyone feels included and respected. This is an incredible opportunity for new members to connect with existing members, creating friendships and networks within the international community.
Aside from that, we held a collaboration event last year with the University of Queensland Malaysian Students’ Association (UQMSA) and the Malaysian Students’ Council of Australia (MASCA) named ‘Lebaran Di Rantauan’ in celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
