Did you know that each year, part of your Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) goes toward funding essential services at QUT? In 2023 alone, students contributed over $8.9 million to support non-academic services like health, welfare, career advice, and enriching campus culture.
As a student-led organisation, the QUT Guild received $2.27 million of that funding to provide vital services you asked for, including Student Assist, the food bank, free period products, financial assistance, and support for student media, collectives, and over 140 clubs and societies.
But here’s the exciting part: a new government bill could increase student funding! Starting in 2025, universities may be required to allocate at least 40% of SSAF to student-led organisations like the Guild. With this potential increase, we want to hear from you about what services matter most.
Have your say on how student fees should be spent! This is your chance to influence the services and programs that directly impact your university experience. Help shape the future of QUT by telling us what’s important to you.
